Anthony Leon Perkins, 65, of Twin Falls, died Friday March 26, 2004 at Magic Valley Regional Medical Center.
He was born Nov. 15, 1938, in Snowflake, the son of Marion and Rilla DeSpain Perkins. He married Margaret Lucille Cochran in Los Angeles, California Sept. 15, 1961. For over 20 years, they lived in Holbrook, raising their children. During those years, Leon worked on statewide highway construction. Eventually, the family moved to Yerington, Nevada and later, Idaho.
He was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Woodworking was his favorite pastime; he created exquisitely detailed work on the scroll saw.
Leon is survived by his wife Lucille of Twin Falls; six children, Bill Perkins of Twin Falls, Idaho, Jim Perkins of Orem Utah, Cindy Howard of Yerington Nevada, Barbara Flemings of Hazelton Idaho, Tom Perkins of Fernley Nevada, and Tina Silvaz of Twin Falls, Idaho; twenty-three grandchildren; three brothers, Don Perkins and Carvel Perkins, both from Oregon, and Bob Perkins of Arizona; three sisters, Darla Huffman of Louisiana, Anita Ramirez of Taylor and Terri Ramsay of Snowflake.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Richard.
Graveside service was held Wednesday March 31, at Sunset Memorial Park, Twin Falls, with LDS Bishop Charles Hansen officiating.
