Eleanor Lucile Cottam, 85, died Friday, April 16, 2004 at The Carriage House in Snowflake.
She was born in Albany, New York where she lived during her early childhood. Eleanor lived in Southern California for many years thereafter. She graduated from Carpenteria High School in 1937. In 1939 she married Albert Jerome Cottam. They lived in Santa Barbara and Montecito for many years. He died in 1981.
Eleanor then served a mission for church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. In 1993 she came to Arizona and lived in Phoenix until 2001 when she moved to Lakeside. She was a member of the Wagon Wheel Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Eleanor has enjoyed attending the temple and serving in the Mesa Temple for several years, and enjoyed going to the Snowflake Temple until her health failed.
Eleanor is survived by her three sons, Albert J. Cottam of Lakeside, Kenneth R. Cottam of Portland, Oregon, John H Cottam of Highland Ranch, California; two daughters, E. Diana Mabey of Yorktown Heights, New York, Rosemary L. Beaver of Sparkes, Nevada; 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Albert J. Cottam.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 21 at Owens Mortuary in Show Low. Burial will be in the Goleta Cemetery in Santa Barbara, California.
