HOLM, Chester N. (Chet)


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 04/30/2004 Chester N. Holm, 85, died April 13, 2004 in Show Low. He was born Nov. 14, 1918 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Chet was a veteran of World War II, surviving a crash in a C-46 with a broken back. He worked at McDonald Douglas Aircraft in Long Beach, California for 42 years before retiring in 1981. Chet and his wife Dorothy moved to Pinetop in 2001 after vacationing in the area for many years. Chet enjoyed many hobbies including dancing, model trains, RV outings, woodworking, and especially gardening. He was a charter member of the Pinetop Garden Club. Many golfers have admired the beauty of his yard while golfing by. Chet is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy; daughter, Karen (Nate) Newton of Lakeside; son, Jeffrey (Mary Ann) Holm of Pinetop; grandchildren, Tracey Newton, Amanda Searcy, Mark Newton, David Holm and Julie Mikesell; great-grandchildren, Trenton, Blake Holm and Bryce Mikesell.
