John Edward Wohlscheid, 67, died April 29, 2004 in Show Low.
He was born in Sunfield, Michigan. He came to Arizona 35 years ago, and lived in the Northwest area of Phoenix where he operated several businesses, including landscaping. He was "Jack of all trades-master of none." John also owned a bar called Gloria's Place, named after his wife. John loved the outdoors and especially loved fishing. He has lived in Overgaard for the past 10 years. John served in the U.S. Army for several years and was a member of the American Legion Post in Overgaard, where he enjoyed cooking at their various functions.
John is survived by one son, Mark Allen Wholscheid of Lancing, Michigan; two daughters, Valarie Lynn Hufft of Henderson, Nevada, Susan Ellen Wohlscheid of Lansing, Michigan; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Larry Wohlscheid of Battle Creek, Michigan; three sisters, Ruth Newton of Portland, Michigan, Patricia Cranson of Portland, Michigan, and JoAnn Howard of Harrison, Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria and three children.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, May 6 at the Heber-Overgaard American Legion Post.
