Sequoyah Wade Carl Sr., 77, died Saturday, April 3, 2010, in Flagstaff.

Mr. Carl was born July 31, 1932, in Moriarity, N.M. He moved to Williams at the age of 6 and lived in northern Arizona the rest of his life. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War and was an active lifetime member of the VFW. He also retired from Flagstaff Medical Center in 1996. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, horseback riding, and most of all, he enjoyed time with his family.

Mr. Carl is survived by his wife, Marlene; brothers Billy and David; son Bootie (Laurie); daughters Diana (Matt), Kim (John) and Lawana (Paul); 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be today at 10 a.m. at Norvel Owens Mortuary Chapel, 914 E. Route 66, in Flagstaff.
