Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, AZ Tuesday, April 6, 2010 Elmer Iams, 87, died Saturday, April 3, 2010. Mr. Iams was born June 4, 1922, in Washington, Pa., to William and Anna (Green) Iams. He was one of 11 children. He was a tool and die maker for Reynolds Aluminum in Phoenix for 32 years. His greatest pleasures in life were playing music and singing with his family and friends, square dancing, hunting, golfing, family vacations and building anything he could imagine. He had a great zest for life as demonstrated by surviving his wife, Dorothy, by 10 years. He lived a blessed life with family and friends, who loved him and who will miss him dearly. He's at peace now with his loving wife, eight brothers and sisters and childhood friends. Mr. Iams is survived by daughter Vickie Iams Blalock; son Ross Iams; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother Oscar Iams; sister Emma Moore, both of Washington, Pa.; and nieces and nephews all of Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Dorothy, and eight brothers and sisters. Viewing will be Wednesday at noon and funeral service will be at 2 p.m. at Lozano's Flagstaff Mortuary, 2545 N. Fourth St., in Flagstaff. Interment will be at Citizens Cemetery, where he will rest next to his lifelong love Dorothy.
