The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Tuesday, April 6, 2010 Ronald W. Tracy, 76, of Prescott, Ariz., born July 31, 1933, in Nevada, Mo., passed away April 2, 2010. Committal service will be 10 a.m. Friday, April 9, 2010, at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona. Tracy, 76, passed away Friday, April 2, 2010, at the VA Hospice in Prescott, Ariz. He was born July 31, 1933, in Nevada, Mo. Ron came to the Phoenix area when he was 9 years old. Cars and motorcycles were his passion. Ron restored a robin's-egg-blue '32 Ford Coupe, which he was so proud of, and would also race it. After high school, Ron was drafted into the Army. He served during the Korean War in Germany and was in the motor pool. He was proud to serve his country. After the war, Ron worked at the Tracy Cabinet Shop. He made a career as a certified kitchen designer. He continued collecting, restoring and racing cars. His favorite was a Ranchero truck with a Cobra engine, called the "Blue Streak," which later won first place at Sears Point in a race. A celebration of Ron's life will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 15, 2010, at the Village Tower, 1075 Ruth St. in Prescott. Donations may be made in Ron's name to the VA Hospice, 500 Highway 89N, Prescott, AZ 86313. Ron's remains were interred at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona. Hampton Funeral Home assisted the family with final arrangements. Information provided by survivors.
