Lifelong Globe-Miami resident Lilo A. Chavez, age 81 passed away Sunday, April 4, 2010 at Cobre Valley Community Hospital. He was born on March 29, 1929, in Miami, Ariz., the son of Josephina and Matias Chavez. Lilo proudly served in the United States Army during World War II and was stationed in France, Germany and Austria. He was very active in the Old Timers Reunion. He loved walking his dogs Blackie and Chico while enjoying the beauty of the local area. Lilo will be greatly miss and warmly remembered by all who knew him.
Lilo A. Chavez leaves behind in loving memory his wife Rosa "Rosie" Chavez of Globe, Arizona; daughters Kathleen Chavez of Tucson, Arizona and Dorothy Dolan and her husband Brian of Tucson, Arizona; stepchildren Stella Madrid, Diana Herrera, Lydia Jimenez and Jesse De La Rosa, Jr. and his wife Melissa all of California; brother Alex Chavez and his wife Frances of Rodeo, California; sister Trini Windell of Hayward, California; grandchildren Maria Fallon and Monica Fallon both of Tucson, Ariz.
Lilo A. Chavez was preceded in death by his first wife Reinalda Chavez; son Ray Chavez; brothers Ted Chavez, Joe Chavez and Ray Chavez; sisters Amalia Apodaca, Mickey Varela and Faustina Chavez.
The family would like to thank the doctors and the staff at Cobre Valley Community Hospital for all of the support and care of Lilo and Rosie. Visitation will be Friday, April 9, 2010, at 9 a.m. at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament, 844 W. Sullivan Street, Miami, Ariz.
Mass will be on Friday, April 9, 2010, 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament, 844 W. Sullivan Street, Miami. Interment will be at Mt. Breeze Memorial Gardens, Miami, Ariz. Funeral arrangements for Lilo A. Chavez were entrusted to Miles Funeral Services Globe.
