Julia Kludt Burch of Phoenix, age 98 passed away March 30, 2010 after a long illness. Julia was born July 26, 1911 in Richmond, Wash. and raised in Kamiah, Idaho on a rural family farm.
She married Davis P. Burch in Idaho and moved to Camas, Wash. where her two daughters were born. In 1946, the family moved to Claypool, Ariz. and after raising their family Julia and David moved to Sun Lakes, Ariz. for retirement. Julia was very active with fishing, hunting and golfing. Her main hobby was gardening and won many ribbons for her cross- breeding of roses and geraniums in the Phoenix area.
She is preceded in death by her husband David; brothers Axel and Virgil Kludt; sisters Mabel Kludt Dubvig and Edna Kludt Lage; grandson Rick Nichols and great-granddaughter Julia Nichols.
Julia is survived by her daughters Carol Nichols (Richard), Mesa, Ariz. and Betty Prettyman (Ray), Diamond, Mo.; three grandchildren, David Nichols, Darla Gills and Brian Prettyman; and three great- grandchildren Kyle Prettyman, Heather Prettyman and Corey Gills.
There will be a private family memorial at a later date in the Valley of the Sun Chapel in Chandler, Ariz.
