Stanton Hagen Haynie, 87, died May 9, 2004 at home in Apache Junction.
He was born June 18, 1916 and has lived in Apache Junction for the past six months. Stanton worked for the United State Postal Service for 27 years in Fullerton, California, and was High Priest for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served his country in the Army for five years. He was dedicated to his family and his church.
He is survived by his wife Edith Haynie; sons, Stuart and Darrell Haynie of Mesa; daughters, Carol Flippen of Winchester, California, Janice Garcia of Bribie Isle, Australia, Kathryn Bishop of San Diego, California, Robin Lafferty of Mesa, Loretta Inman of Lakeside; along with 26 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Services were held at the Alama 11th Ward, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Mesa with burial at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.
