Larry Roger Vaughn went to be with the Lord May 13, 2004.
He was born in Phoenix, Jan. 1, 1944 and attended Washington High School, graduating in 1962. Following high school he served his country proudly in the United States Army from 1965 until 1968. Larry spent 13 months in Korea where he endured severe conditions and frigid temperatures. The experience would remain with him all of his life. In 1969 he was united in marriage to Sherry Rumler and they were blessed with a son, Raymond Richard in 1970.
Larry and his family traveled extensively over the years and he was a member of the Asbestos Workers Local 73 Union where he also served as president. The allure of the White Mountains brought Larry to Pinetop-Lakeside where he loved the pine trees and beautiful lakes. For the past 18 years Larry and Sherry have worked side by side, owning and operating a motel and RV park.
Larry is survived by his wife Sherry; one sister, Sherry (Chuck) Hudson of Phoenix; his mother, Ida May Vaughn of Phoenix; two nephews, Steven (Darlene) Hudson of Phoenix, Chuck Hudson of Chandler, and one niece, Starla (Gary) Reichow of Chandler.
He was preceded in death by his son, Raymond Richard Vaughn and father Raymond X. Vaughn.
