The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 05/21/2004 Marcia Amelia Ashcroft, 64, died May 15, 2004 at White Mountain Regional Medical Center in Springerville. She was born Aug. 8, 1939 in Cedar City, Utah to Grant E. and Marie S. Smith. Her survivors include husband, W. Ross Ashcroft, Eagar; sons Craig A. (Kathy) Ashcroft, Shawnee, Oklahoma and Robert E.(Rhonda) Ashcroft, Cochran, Georgia.; daughter Patsy A. (Brian) Morris, Mesa; brothers Clinton Smith, Orem, Utah and Ray M. Smith, Surprise; and sister Helen M. Basinger, Cottonwood, California; as well as eight grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents Grant and Marie Smith; son Gary Ashcroft; and daughter Joyce Ashcroft. Funeral services were held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Eagar Stake Center May 20. An additional memorial will be held at the Thunderbird LDS Chapel at 5300 W. Thunderbird, in Glendale Friday, May 21 at 11 a.m. Interment will be at the Resthaven Cemetery in at 6290 W. Northern, Glendale. Burnham-Jewkes Mortuary, Springerville was in charge of arrangements.
