The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 05/21/2004 Mary Ellen Kiepke, 57, died May 16, 2004 at her home in Holbrook. She was born in the old Maternity Hospital in Snowflake. Her parents lived in Holbrook and she lived all of her life in Holbrook. Mary graduated from Holbrook High School with the class of 1965. She married Ted Kiepke in 1971. Mary was always actively involved with Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church where she worked as the parish secretary for several years. For the past three years she has worked, as a special needs aid at Holbrook Pre-School. She was president of the Holbrook Hospital Foundation, a community group working to re-open the Holbrook Hospital. Mary loved the outdoors and enjoyed camping trips to the White Mountains. Most of all, Mary loved being with her family and caring for her grandkids. She is survived by her husband, Ted W. Kiepke of Holbrook; two sons, Rob (Monette) Kiepke of Peoria, Matthew (Randi) Kiepke of Peoria; one daughter, Lachelle Kiepke (Fiance, David Smith) of Queen Creek; parents, John and Lilly Lopez of Holbrook; one brother, Charlie Lopez of Litchfield; seven grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 A.M. Friday May 21, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Rosary beginning at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 20 with a viewing beginning at 6 p.m. and one-hour prior to the service Friday.
