Van Pelt Private grave side services were held for Katherine Louise Van Pelt, 93, who died Wednesday, May 26, 2004 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Mrs. Van Pelt was born Aug. 4, 1910 in Tyrone, Pennsylvania. She was a resident of Holbrook for 20 years, where she and her husband owned and operated the Jiffy Market until their retirement in 1973. Upon retirement, they bought a home in Show Low where she resided until 2003. She was a resident of Las Vegas for the past year. She was active in art and ceramics. She was preceded in death by her husband James C. Van Pelt, who died in 1984. Her survivors include two sons, James C. Van Pelt, Jr. of Goodyear and Jeff Van Pelt of Lake Havasu City; two daughters, Cynthia Klein of Las Vegas and Susan Decker of Coolidge; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
