SPIRES, James Lewis


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 06/18/2004 James Lewis Spires, 19, of Taylor died June 7, 2004 in Tucson after a long battle with Leukemia. He was born Nov. 25, 1984 in Show Low. James attended Taylor schools through fourth grade and then transferred to Show Low Intermediate School, then he attended Snowflake Junior High and attended Northern Arizona Academy where he graduated in 2003. James was an avid outdoors person. He loved to hunt, fish and be in the woods. He enjoyed hunting for dropped horns and just watching wildlife. He loved building and carving with wood. His fun times were working with his friends on their trucks, riding four wheelers and just hanging out. He never met a stranger and loved hunting stories. He had a huge heart, strong spirit and courage that surpassed many. He was an inspiration to many and will be dearly missed. He is survived by his father and mother, John and Donna "Shelly" Spires; brother John (finance, Brandie Clausen); sister Brandi (finance, Brett Barnes), and son Brandon; maternal grandparents, Owen and Tinker Baldwin; paternal grandparents, Rodney and Barbara Spires; great-maternal grandmother, Birdie Elliot and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Memorial services were held Saturday, June 12 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Taylor Stake Center. Arrangements were by Silver Creek Chapel Mortuary of Taylor.
