Frances M. Alvarez was born in Hayden, Arizona. She lived in Hayden and Dudleyville for most of her life before moving to Tucson, where she peacefully passed away on Sunday, April 11, 2010.
Frances loved her garden filled with flowers and the many fruit trees that encircled her home. Everyone appreciated her wry sense of humor and ageless wisdom. Frances was a wonderful wife and caring mother and grandmother. In addition to enjoying all kinds of music and going with her husband to popular dance venues in Tucson, Frances enjoyed life the most when surrounded by family.

Gloria (Ruben) Gonzales of Tucson and Rosie (Alfonso) Garcia of Dudleyville; sons, Michael (Diane) of Tucson and John of Dudleyville; and her 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Mike and parent John and Juanita Rios Martinez.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 16, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Hayden with Father Dale Branson reciting the Rosary at 10:30 a.m. and celebrating the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Hayden.
