Bettie Louise Savage Katrales, 69, died June 14, 2004 in Show Low.
She was born Aug. 28, 1934 in Temple, Oklahoma. Bettie attended school and college in Chickasha, Oklahoma where she met John Katrales who was in the Navy and stationed close by. They were married and traveled worldwide wherever John's Navy duties took them, eventually settling in Phoenix.
They had one son Brian. Bettie was a very active member of the PTO and was always involved in the public school system where ever her son was attending. Their family traveled extensively and Bettie very much enjoyed seeing the world. In 1989, she moved to Show Low where she retired. Bettie enjoyed quilting, arts, and crafts and was also an avid reader. She was a loving and dedicated mother to her son Brian.
Bettie is survived by her son Brian (Sandra) Katrales; three grandchildren Jessey Arguello, Alix Arguello and Brett Katrales; brothers, Jimmie Savage of Mangum, Oklahoma, Harold Savage of San Diego, California, John Savage of Fort Worth, Texas, Jerry Savage of El Paso, Texas; sisters Tia Cummings of Peoria, Carol Kasulaitis of Farmington, New Mexico, Joy Phillips of Sun City, Katherine Hinton of Allen, Texas; step-sister, Betty Dourty of Tulsa, Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Gina Katrales of Phoenix; former husband John L. Katrales and special friends Jim and Sheila Kotofskie.
A memorial service was held Thursday, June 17 at Owens Mortuary Chapel in Show Low.
