BECKER, Willia A. (Bill)


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 06/25/2004 William A. Becker died at his home in Springerville, June 21, 2004. Bill was born Aug. 2, 1941 in Springerville. He loved anything to do with the outdoors including cutting wood, fishing, and driving around in the mountains. Bill was the fourth generation of one of Round Valley's original pioneer families. He attended school in Round Valley and graduated from Round Valley High School in 1959. He attended Western New Mexico College, Northern Arizona University, and the University of Arizona. During his lifetime he worked in the family business for many years, and was an entrepreneur, and a city employee. He was vice mayor of Springerville, a Springerville city councilman, airport commissioner, and the police commissioner. His survivors include his wife, Charlene Becker; sons Steven (Gloria) Becker, Jason (Michelle) Jaramillo; daughters Santana Jaramillo, Angie Nabity and Sheya Hamblin; grandchildren Danner Jaramillo, Shelby Becker, Devlin Becker, Kimberly Kunkel and Jarod Kunkel; brothers Jack (Carol) Becker, Springerville, Jim Becker, Corpus Christy, Texas; sister Nancy Steele, Phoenix. Preceding him in death was his first wife, Bonnie L. Becker; parents Ernest and Ethel Becker and step-daughter Brandi Kunkel. Funeral services will be Saturday, June 26, at 10 a.m. at the Community Presbyterian Church in Springerville. Visitation will be Friday, June 25 from 6-8 p.m. at Burnham-Jewkes Mortuary, in Springerville. Burnham-Jewkes Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
