Madeline Rose Prein, 14, died June 29, 2004 at Phoenix Children's Hospital following a brief illness.
She was born at the White Mountain Community Hospital in Springerville. Madeline has lived in Show Low, Linden and Lakeside. She attended school in Linden and then attended Blue Ridge Mid School and junior high where she recently completed eighth grade. Madeline was actively involved in the High in The Pines 4-H group and was a Yellow Jacket varsity cheer leader at Blue Ridge.
She attended the Community Presbyterian Church in Pinetop. She was a wonderful daughter, sister and friend. She will be remembered for her special energy and enthusiasm for life.
Madeline is survived by her parents, Lori Morse and Mark Prein of Lakeside; one sister, Anna Prein of Lakeside; grandmothers, Lois Morse and Velda Prein both of Tucson; two aunts, Kay Gulick of Florida and Anne Roggenbaum of New York; one uncle, Carl Prein of Texas and several cousins all out of state.
Memorial services will be held Monday, July 5 at the White Mountain Bible Church, 3171 Show Low Lake Road in Show Low at 11 a.m., with a reception immediately following at the Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall.
A memorial fund has been established in Madeline's name at Bank One under account number 657392353. The funds will be used to benefit Phoenix Children's Hospital and Ronald McDonald's House.
