Lamont Mortuary of Globe, Globe, Arizona Olive Johnson Harrington, age 79, passed away April 10, 2010. Olive was a high school majorette and graduate of 1949. She was a Globe High Tiger and competed in the Miss Gila County Pageant but her dedication to her Aunt Donnie and Uncle Alf DeVore kept her busy working the ranch life on the X Diamond Ranch at Cherry Creek. Olive married a cowboy, Sterling Green, traveling the rodeo circuit taking her far from home, but always coming back. six kids and twenty years later brought her home to stay. She married Don Harrington and spent many more years going to team roping and working cattle on the Flying Triangle Ranch in Globe. Her life was devoted to her kids and family. She took care of Don, her parents, Pete and Rae Johnson, her aunts, Eva Johnson and Donnie DeVore, until their final days. She was preceded in death by her two brothers and sister Betty Thornbrugh. Olive is survived by her children Dusty(Debi) Green, Peachie Griffith, Darlene(Dan) Jonovich, Pete Green, Holly(Joe) Brantley, Duane(Karen) Harrington, her sister Ann Shane, 17 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Olive will be greatly missed but her love and devotion will be carried on through her children and their children and her love and faith in God. The visitation will be held April 15 at 6:00 pm at Holy Angels Catholic Church followed by the rosary at 7:00 pm and the service on April 16 at 10:00 am at the same location. The interment will follow at Old Globe Cemetery.
