STEINKE, Wilma Carol

Lamont Mortuary of Globe, Globe, Arizona Wilma Carol Steinke, age 85, passed away April 13, 2010 at Heritage Health Care Center in Globe, AZ. She was a homemaker in her own home. She was the first certified woman officer for Gila County Sheriffs' Office and worked for the Gila County Treasurers' Office and Miami Copper's Telephone Co. After retirement, she and her husband worked at several of the local ranches. She loved sewing, quilting, cooking, going horseback riding, her garden and spending time with family and the church. She was preceded in death by her husband Alfred Steinke, her grandchildren Joy Casteneda and John Gering and a great grandchild Justin Gering. Wilma is survived by her daughters Carol Davidson of Guntersville, AL, W. Jean Gering of Globe and Elizabeth Fuller of Pima, her sons Edward of Rawlins, WY and David Steinke of Globe, her brother E. Glenn Bonar of Garner, KS, her sister Christine Pedroza of Berlin, NM, as well as 21 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren and many great-great grandchildren. The visitation will be held April 17 at 2:00 pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Stake Center in Globe followed by the service at 3:00 pm. The interment will then follow at Mountain Breeze Memorial Gardens in Miami. The family suggests donations be made to: Cobre Valley Regional Medical Center Foundation 5880 S.
