Samuel Regehr
(May 22, 1923 - March 30, 2010)
Samuel Regehr, 86, of Show Low, passed away Tuesday, March 30, at Payson Care Center. He was born May 22, 1923, in Inman, KS, the son of Henry and Katie Regehr. He was raised and attended school in Bakersfield, CA, graduating from Bakersfield High School. He earned his Associates Degree at Palomar College in San Marcos, CA. He entered the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving in the Pacific Theater in World War II. He was a bomber in the 405th Bomber Squadron in the Marianas.
He was married to Beatrice Hanson on August 28, 1970, in Las Vegas. He lived in many places during his work career as a facility engineer. He came to Show Low in 2007. He had a green thumb and always had a greenhouse and enjoyed yard work. He had been a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his wife, Beatrice of the home; a daughter, Sharon Jackson and husband Danny of New Mexico; two sons, Ron Regehr and wife Karen of San Diego, CA and Steven Regehr of New Mexico; two sisters, Leona Dowl of California and Lavina Roskhan of Bakersfield, CA; three stepsons, Douglas Hanson of Show Low, Charles Hanson of California and Rex Hanson of Las Vegas; 4 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren; 9 step grandchildren, 10 great step grandchildren and 2 great great step grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Art, and a stepson, Richard Hanson.
Memorial service will be at 3:00 P.M., Saturday, April 24, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Show Low.
