Lawrence E. Alexander, 54, died July 5, 2004.
He attended school at Palo Verde High in Tucson and was active in gymnastics. Later he attended Northland Pioneer College. He served his country proudly in Vietnam for two tours as Sgt. in the U.S. Army. He also served as E-4 Corporal in the U.S. Navy as Operations Specialist on the U.S.S. Hoel in San Diego, California.
He retired from the Department of Corrections in 1970 in Springerville. Lawrence was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Foreign Legion, Non-Commissioned Officers Association, Northern American Fishing Association and the National Rifle Association.
Lawrence is survived by his mother, Aleen C. Kay of Lakeside; one sister Twila (William) Wilkening of Lakeside; two brothers, Robert (Sandra) Alexander of Show Low, Richard (Carol) Alexander of Lakeside; step-daughter, Dawn (Danny) Magdowski; and many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews; three step-grandchildren.
