The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Friday, April 16, 2010 Virginia Knowles died April 10, 2010 at her residence in Prescott, Ariz. She was born in Peoria, Ill. on April 12, 1936, the daughter of Ernest and Treasa Karl. Virginia studied music, majoring in voice at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, Ind. and at the University of California in Berkeley. She shared her musical talents with each of the nine Lutheran Church congregations over the years and more recently con-founded Music Start, an organization, which introduces music to young children. In addition to music, Virginia founded Interior Details, a successful interior design business conducted in San Francisco and Miami, Fla. Virginia freely gave of her time and talents in many ways. She co-founded "How Prescott Sets It's Tables," a fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity. Virginia is survived by her husband, Denis. They were married Oct. 27, 1956 and have a son, Jeffrey and a daughter Kristin (Patrick) and grandchildren, Chloe and Nicholas, all of Las Vegas, Nev. A Memorial celebration of Virginia's life will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 23, 2010 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 7763 E. Long Look, Prescott Valley, Ariz. The family suggests contributions in Virginia's name to the Mayo Clinic, Cancer Research Center, 13400 E. Shea, Scottsdale, AZ 85289. Information provided by survivors.
