Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, AZ Wednesday, October 1, 2003 Brigida Pena, 68, died Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2003, at her home in St. Johns. She was born in Reserve, N.M., to Thomas and Marcelina Peralta. She was the youngest of eight siblings. Mrs. Pena lived in Flagstaff for a number of years and worked at Northern Arizona University. She had a great love for music, singing and playing her guitar in a local band. Her band even played on local television on Saturday evenings. She was a great mother, the best grandmother and just a beautiful woman inside and out. She will be greatly missed. Survivors include her daughters, Nellie Anaya, Carol Henderson, Grace Lucero and Jan Lucero; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers Mathias Peralta, Juan Peralta, Jesus Peralta and Abel Peralta; and sisters Andrea Cardova and Dominica Gutierrez. Holy Rosary will be Friday at 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to either RTA Hospice of Show Low, 5658 Highway 260 #5, Lakeside, AZ 85929; or the American Cancer Society, 2724 E. Lakin, Suite 9, Flagstaff, AZ 86004. Norvel Owens Mortuary of Flagsatff is handling arrangements.
