WHITEHEAD, Debra Ann


Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, AZ Tuesday, April 13, 2004 Debra Ann Whitehead, 48, died Tuesday, April 6, 2004. Mrs. Whitehead was born Nov. 19, 1955, and attended school in Flagstaff. She graduated from Flagstaff High School in 1973. Later she was employed by the city of Flagstaff Police Department and Northern Arizona University before moving to Sacramento, Calif., where she worked with the California Motor Vehicle Department. She was also a member of the Taylor Street Baptist Church. She was a dedicated mother, daughter and friend. She is survived by children Katrina Potee, Lester Jones, and Danielle Walker, all of Sacramento, Calif.; special friend Ernest Knox, of Sacramento; mother and stepfather Rosie Mae and Vernon Thomas; brothers and sisters Donald Ray (Pauline) Whitehead of Pomona, Calif., Wayne (Zorator) Whitehead and Denise, Charles, Darrell and Randy Thomas, all of Flagstaff; stepbrother Larry (Yolanda) Thomas of Banning, Calif.; six grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and devoted friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Artist Eldridge; daughter Carolyn Potee; brother Kevin Bowers; and her maternal grandparents. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. this Friday at Norvel Owens Mortuary, 914 E. Route 66. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Springhill Missionary Baptist Church, 624 S. O'Leary St., Flagstaff. Burial will follow in Citizens Cemetery, 1300 S. San Francisco St. Arrangements are under the direction of Norvel Owens Mortuary.
