Rose Angela Ellis went to be with our Lord July 14, 2004 after an exhausting battle with an infection of the spinal cord.
Rose Angela was born Sept. 8, 1939. She was an accomplished author, musician, entrepeneur, horse trainer, and lexicographer. Rose Angela was a former Nun and was the first woman to be inducted into the Heavy Equipment Operators Union. She attended the University of New Mexico and majored in Industrial Arts.
Furthermore, Rose Angela was awarded the Governer's Award for "Women on the Move," and she was interviewed by many magazines and television programs thoroughout her lifetime, including the Mike Douglas Show. Words cannot express the loss that this world has experienced with the loss of D. Rose Angela Ellis. Rose Angela leaves behind several friends.
A memorial service to celebrate D. Rose Angelas life will be held Saturday, July 31, 11 a.m. at St. Peter's Church, Springerville, with Father Pat officiating.
In lieu of flowers, send a donation to the University of New Mexico in honor of Rose Angela.
