The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Tuesday, April 20, 2010 James "Jim" Slechta, 67, of Prescott Valley, Ariz., born Aug. 25, 1942, in Alhambra, Calif., passed away April 16, 2010, at YRMC in Prescott. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 24, 2010, at Agua Fria Ward, LDS Church, 7885 E. Long Look Drive, Prescott Valley. A Celebration of Life will be at 3 p.m. in the Ward Sanctuary. Burial and grave dedication will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 26, 2010, at Evergreen Cemetery in Tucson, Ariz. Arizona Wakelin Bradshaw Chapel assisted the family with final arrangements. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Arizona Wakelin Bradshaw Chapel Prescott, Arizona James Edward Slechta 8/25/1942 - 4/16/2010 James "Jim" Edward Slecta died Friday, April 16, 2010 at Yavapai Regional Medical Center in Prescott, Arizona. He was born August 25, 1942 in Alhambra, California; the son of Joseph and Mary (Susta) Slechta. Jim was 67 years old. Jim is survived by his loving and caring wife Joyce of Prescott Valley, Arizona. Children: Dale Slechta of Tucson, Arizona, David & Charlotte Baker of Prescott Valley, Arizona, Thomas Slechta of Buckeye, Arizona, Janette and Chris Nichols of Morrow, Washington, and Michelle Maldonado of Prescott, Arizona. Jim is also survived by 13 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. Brother: Al Slechta of Gilroy, California and cousin Milton Janowski of Boston, MA Also surviving Jim is his niece Tricia and nephew Richad. Jim will be greatly missed by his family as well as his church family.
