The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 08/20/2004 Andrew Albert Chavez, Jr. Andrew Albert Chavez, 18, died while in route to the hospital in Flagstaff after an auto accident near St. Johns, Aug. 16, 2004. Andrew was born October 20, 1985 in Springerville. Andrew lived with his grandparents, Albert and Eloisa Chavez. He loved life and enjoyed music, eating out, riding horses and motorcycles and eating his grandmothers cooking, especially her fried chicken. He was a prankster and loved playing jokes on his family and friends. He also loved being on the ranch and hanging out with his grandfather. Andrew was a senior at St. Johns High School. Andrew's survivors include his fraternal grandparents, Albert and Eloisa Chavez; maternal grandfather, Ishamal Vallejos; mother Yolanda Chavez; stepbrothers Terrae and John Arias, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Preceding Andrew in death is his father Andrew Chavez, Sr.; and grandmother Lydia Vallejos. A Rosary will be held Friday, Aug. 20 at 7 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, St. Johns. Funeral Mass will be Saturday, Aug. 21 at 10 a.m. also at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Burnham-Jewkes Mortuary, St. Johns is in charge of arrangements.
