The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona April 7, 1993 George Tope of Prescott died Tuesday, March 30, 1993, at Good Samaritan Care Center of Phoenix. He was 65. Mr. Tope was born Feb. 7, 1928, at Anniston, Missouri, and had lived in Prescott since he was 7 years old. Mr. Tope retired in 1983 from Arizona Public Service as an Arizona Public Service representative. He was stationed mostly in the Yarnell area. He was active in a multitude of community affairs in Yarnell and was instrumental in erecting the Community Christmas Star which stands on the hill overlooking Yarnell. He attended and graduated from Prescott High School and was a past Master of Atzlan Lodge No. 1, F&A.M. York Rite Bodies of Prescott, El Zaribah Shrine. Mr. Tope is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Daniel and Tamara Tope of Prescott; daughter Terri Lynn Boyd; and daughter and son-in-law Donna Lea and Rob Somerlot; brothers and sisters-in-law Finis and Ginny Tope, Howard and Rachael Tope, and William and Darline Tope; sisters and brothers-in-law Ruth and Lloyd Tenney, Betty Jean and Norman Arnold, and Frankie and Larry Harding; and grandchildren Sherman and Christopher Boyd of Burley, Ind. Masonic memorial services have been held with private cremation and burial at the Mountain View Cemetery in Prescott.
