The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 08/20/2004 Marguerite Ione Shaw, 88, died Aug. 16, 2004 in Show Low. Marguerite was born in Milford, Nebraska but moved to Jerseyville, Illinois as a child and remained there until age 18 when she enrolled in Bible College. Upon graduation she relocated to Red Rock, Oklahoma where she served as a missionary. Marguerite came to the Southwest where she served as a home missionary in Tuba City, AZ, Black Hat, New Mexico, Newcome, New Mexico, San Ysidro, New Mexico, Bylass, and finally to Carrizo, where she lived her remaining years. She was a very special lady, a prayer warrior who read forty to eighty chapters daily from the bible. Marguerite was always good to people and they appreciated her for it. In her spare time she enjoyed listening to the Gaither's Gospel music. Marguerite is survived by one sister, Charlotte (Paul) Strebel of Jerseyville, Illinois; two sister-in-laws, Colleen Shaw and Bertha Shaw, both of Jerseyville, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald, Harold and Bernard; and two sisters, Edna and Virginia. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday Aug. 21, at the Carrizo Assembly of God Church in Carrizo, with a visitation and dinner to follow the service.
