PRUITT, Elsberry Younger


The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona March 3, 1993 Elsberry Younger Pruitt of Wickenburg died Feb. 24, 1993, in Scottsdale. He was 82. Mr. Pruitt was born Sept. 2, 1910 in Labette Co., Kansas, and had been an Arizona resident for 29 years. Mr. Pruitt had lived in Cascade, Idaho, from 1946 to 1964 when he moved to Arizona. He had worked as a farmer, trapper, contractor, well driller, Christmas tree farmer and income tax assistant. He was a member of various small miner's associations, Wickenburg Elks Lodge and an M.P. of the Guard Force in WWII. Mr. Pruitt married Violet Waters on April 9, 1939, and she proceeded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents, a sister, brother, daughter and a grandson. Mr. Pruitt is survived by daughters, Peggy Simpson of Peoria, Arizona, and Darlene Moore of Nebraska; sons Carry Pruitt of Washington and Norman Pruitt of Oregon; three sisters, three brothers, 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. There will be no visitation and private memorial services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wickenburg Elks Lodge. All arrangements were handled by Wickenburg Funeral Home.
