Victor S. Kilpatrick was born in Arkansas on Sept. 19, 1911 to Chester and Edna Kilpatrick. He went to his eternal home the morning of April 8, 2010. He was 98 years old.
Victor was preceded in death by both his parents; all his siblings; his first wife of 60 years, Margaret; his second wife of 10 years, Viola; both of his children, Clinton Kilpatrick and Geraldine (Jerry) Vail; and, grandson, Clinton Jr.
Those surviving Victor are son-in-law Joe Vail of Anderson, California; grandchildren, Randy (Joyce) Vail of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Margaret (Meg) Vail of Anderson, California; former daughter-in-law, Betty (Kilpatrick) Webb of Challis, Utah; and grandchildren, Marsha (Marcie) of Mesa (who is the wife of his deceased grandson) and Donna and Chris (Crystal), both of Safford; eight-great grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
As a young boy, Victor herded goats around Tucson, and also in the Winkelman area. He also delivered telegrams, riding a motorcycle, in Phoenix. As a young man, he worked in the CC Camps two or three different times. He also worked in the timber in California, and was a contract miner, working in underground mines. He finally settled down to one job, working as an underground miner for Magma Copper in San Manuel, retiring after 20 years. He and his wife, Margaret, moved to Aravaipa where his home was at the time of his death.
In 1998, at the age of 86, Victor trusted the Lord as his personal Savior and served the Lord faithfully until his departure to glory.
A memorial will be held at San Pedro Valley Baptist Church in Dudleyville, Thursday, April 22, at 3 p.m., to celebrate Victor's life and his eternal homecoming. Pastor Tim King will be officiating.
