The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 04/23/2010 Patti Neish, 98, died April 18, 2010 at Westchester Care Center in Tempe, where she was a resident for six and a half years. She was born in Colorado on Feb. 5, 1912. She was preceded in death by several siblings. She came to the Phoenix area in the '30s and worked as a waitress and hostess at several restaurants. She lived in Mesa until moving to Show Low in the '80s where she volunteered at Navapache Hospital for many years. She worked in the nursery; hundreds of babies were rocked and prayed for by Patti. She was named "Grandma on the Mountain" in 1984 and was featured in the local newspaper. After moving back to the Valley in the '90s, she was a very active member at her church. She spent her last days at Westchester. She was loved by all and will be especially missed by her "adopted family," Ginny and Kent McFarlane of Tempe, their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. A celebration of her life will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday at Westchester Villas Fiesta (dinning) Room, 6150 S. Rural Road in Tempe.
