The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 08/24/2004 Rodney C. Smith, 40, Eagar, died suddenly at his home the morning of Aug. 18, 2004. He was born Feb. 7, 1964 in Staten Island, New York. Rod was a respiratory therapist and managed Respiratory Solutions in Springerville. He liked sports and was a history buff, collecting history trivia and facts whenever possible. He also liked John Wayne collectibles. His survivors include his wife Linda Smith, Eagar; parents Vic and Sonia Craig, Mesa; children Justin and Jacob Smith and Brandon Hedge; sister Shirlee Smith, Dallas, Texas; and grandmother Betty Walker, Mesa, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. His grandfather Bill Walker, precedes him in death. A memorial service was held Saturday, Aug. 21 at 3 p.m. at Burnham-Jewkes Mortuary, Springerville. Burnham-Jewkes Mortuary, Springerville was in charge of arrangements.
