The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 08/27/2004 John W. Marble, Jr., formerly of Lakeside, died Aug. 20, 2004 in Tucson. John was a general contractor from the early 60s until he retired to Tucson in 1996. He was one of the most prominent builders in the White Mountain area and will be best remembered for building the clubhouses at Pinetop Country Club, Pinetop Lakes Country Club, White Mountain County Club, White Mountain Lakes Country Club, a complete remodeling of the White Mountain Summer Homes and nearly 100 homes in the White Mountain area. John is survived by his wife Betty; sons John III (Lynda) of Lakeside, Dan (Mary) of Washington, Troy (Heidi) of California, Roger (Wendy) of Gilbert; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren; brothers Charles Marble and Willie Marble; and sisters Jean McCray and Shirley Schumaker. Services were held in Tucson Aug. 25.
