The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ February 9, 2000, p. A3 Rose McVay Wentworth, 76, passed away on Feb. 3, 2000. Rose, along with her late husband Robert, were longtime business owners to Wickenburg, first owning the Wickenburg Pharmacy and later Western Auto, both on N. Tegner Street. Rose was born in Wichita, Kan., on March 16, 1923. She moved with her family to Phoenix in 1935. She graduated from phoenix Union High School and Phoenix College, where she was a member of Alpha Sorority. She was a medical secretary in Phoenix before marrying Robert and moving to Wickenburg in 1954. Rose was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church and the community. She will always be remembered for her beautiful singing voice. She was a devoted wife, mothers and grandmother who loved to garden, cook and sew. Rose is survived by her daughter Susan Wentworth of Avondale, Ariz., daughter and son-in-law Rosanne and Bill Moran of Wickenburg; grandchildren Scott, Geoffrey and Melanie Moran; companion John “Foreman” White; sister-in-law Helen McVay; brother and sister-in-law Murray and Maralody Wentworth’ and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by Robert, two brothers and two sisters. A memorial service will be held Thursday (Feb. 10) at 10 a.m. at Frey’s Funeral Home in Wickenburg. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Wickenburg Library Society the Robert C. Wentworth Computer Room, c/o Wickenburg Public Library, 164 E. Apache St., Wickenburg, AZ 85390. Frey Funeral home and Cremation Service in Wickenburg handled the arrangements.
