Thomas “Jack”son Bunnel of Wenden died Feb. 4, 2000 in Wickenburg. He was 71.
Mr. Bunnel was born Oct. 29, 1928 in Bend, Ore., and had lived in Arizona for more than 40 years.
Jack spent his youth in Oregon, where he started his life as a cowboy. He worked in Nevada and Idaho before coming to Arizona on a cattle drive in the 1950s.
He continued to work on cattle ranches and stockyards until he retired to Wenden about seven years ago.
Jack worked at the Mill Iron in Summerton, Ariz., the Gila Monster in Yuma, Ariz., and Kamman Farms in Dome Valley, Ariz.
He dedicated his life to his greatest accomplishments – the breaking, training and the riding of horses. Jack’s greatest gift was the teaching of others and his sense of humor. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends, traveling and riding his horse.
Survivors include his sister Vivian ‘Peggy” Bunnel of Roseburg, Ore.; daughter MaRae Bunnel Smith; and grandchildren Heather Trussell, Amanda Trussell, and Taylor Deere of Blythe, Calif.; son-in-law Roy Deer of Blythe; and many friends.
No funeral services were held.
