Violet Mae Booth was born to Anna Kathryn Knapp and Paul James Booth on Jan. 17, 1925, in New Kensington, Pa.
Her family moved to Youngstown, Ohio when she was 1-year-old. She graduated from Chaney High School and St. Elizabeth’s School of Nursing in 1946. On March 2, 1947, she married Dean Wilcox Guttridge and they relocated to southern California where her husband attended Biola University. She was a nurse at St. Francis Hospital in Lynwood for 42 years.
She is survived by her husband, Dean, of 61 years; daughters Patricia Gilbert and Robin (Robert) Brennan; son Timothy (Vicki) Guttridge; three grandchildren, Christopher Gilbert, Alison and Matthew Guttridge; sister Bertha Croft of Akron, Ohio; and her sister-in-law Nancy Booth of North Jackson, Ohio. Her parents; two brothers; and two sisters preceded her in death.
Vi was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Prescott, JIZ, Christian Women’s Club and served on many committees at the church. She was clearly loved and will be greatly missed.
