A rosary for Genoveva M. Arrellin, 82, of Pima will be recited at St. Rose of Lima Church on Thursday, March 30, at 7 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., March 31, also at the church, with Deacon Arbizo officiating.
Veva left us Saturday, March 25, while at home following a long decline in health, with family members present.
Genoveva was born June 28, 1923, in Morenci, the daughter of Beatrice M. Soto and Mike Maldonado.
She grew up in Morenci and later as a teenage moved to San Jose.
She married Jose R. Arrellin on April 27, 1946, in Safford. They made their home in the Valley and later resided in Pima. Veva was a beloved mom and grandmother.
As a homemaker, she enjoyed cooking and making quilts. She was a member of Beneficio Propio.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose, and her two sons, Rick and Benjamin.
She is survived by her five sons, Johnny, Orlie, Ramie, Raynaldo and Daniel; three daughters, Irene Paredez, Josie Edwards and Rosana Arrellin; five brothers, Pete, Arturo, Rafael, Robert and Sonny Maldonado; three sisters, Consuelo Ruiz, Mary Maldonado and Nellie Sanchez; 22 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren. She is gone, but never to be forgotten, the foundation of our family.
Arrangements are entrusted to Caldwell Chapel.
