Tessmer, Dorothy (Hillmond) Dorothy (Hillmond) Tessmer, age 80, passed away November 28, 2003 at her home in Scottsdale after a long battle with cancer. Dottie was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on January 11, 1923. The Hillmonds moved to Alexandria, Minnesota in 1927. On June 29, 1946, Dorothy married Robert John Tessmer in Alexandria, Minnesota. Survivors include four children: Thomas Tessmer of Surprise, AZ, Anne-Marie Dobbs of Paradise Valley, AZ, Howard Tessmer and Alan Tessmer of Scottsdale, AZ. Survivors also include four grandchildren: Robert and CeCe Dobbs and Justin and Sean Tessmer. A sister, Eleanore Havercamp in Denver, Colorado. In August of 1963, the Tessmer family moved to Paradise Valley, Arizona. Dottie was active in P.E.O. in Minnesota and Arizona. Dorothy joined the Valley Presbyterian Church in 1965 and was a past deacon. Dottie's interests were her family, antiquing, gardening, swimming, fishing, and bird watching. A memorial service will be held at Pinnacle Presbyterian Chapel, 25150 N. Pima Road, Scottsdale, AZ, Wednesday, December 3, 2003, 2:30 pm, Messinger Mortuary will be in charge. A private burial service will be at Paradise Memorial Gardens. In memory of Dorothy Tessmer per her request, she would like all tax deductible donations made to "Copper Square High School". Copper Square is part of the Career Success Schools Charter district, providing an education for under privileged and less advantaged youth seeking to better their lives.
