CERBIN, Jacquelyn Dee


The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 09/10/2004 Jacquelyn Dee Cerbin, 76, of Overgaard died Sept. 5, 2004 at Navapache Regional Medical Center in Show Low. She was born in Sanger, California in 1927 on the family ranch. Her family was a pioneer family of that area. She attended grade school and high school in Sanger, and later attended Fresno State University and Chapman College, graduating with a degree in education in 1950. Jacquelyn married her childhood sweetheart, Dwaine Cerbin Aug. 11, 1949. She specialized in Pre-School Education and would later teach Pre-School Education at the college level. Jacquelyn and Dwaine worked hand in hand building the East Mesa Christian Church. She has also previously served Burbank Christian Church, South Bay Christian Church in Redondo Beach, & First Christian Church in Orange, California. Jacquelyn retired to Overgaard to a cabin she and Dwaine built with family and friends in 1990. She was a member of The Sun Valley Chorale; Volunteer for the Overgaard Chamber of Commerce, President of Christian Women's Fellowship of Arizona. Jacquelyn was an avid reader and T-shirt collector. Jacquelyn is survived by her husband, Dwaine E. Cerbin of Overgaard; daughters, Jennie Cerbin of Kayenta, Bonnie Holt of Venicia, California; one son, David Cerbin of Memphis, Tennessee; six grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family wishes donations be made to the East Mesa Christian Church.
