James Friedel of Aguila, died March 30 in Aguila. He was 58.
Mr. Friedel was born Oct. 26, 1941 in Fond du Lac, Wisc. He had lived in Arizona for the past 10 years.
Jim was an Army veteran and a retired professional firefighter. He was active in the Society of St. Vincent de Paul and many other organizations. He loved life and God.
Jim grew up in Wisconsin and was always interested in hunting, fishing and golf. He won contests as a sharpshooter and built and sold fishing rods. He also built two Blakley Bernardi cars.
Jim initiated the Thursday evening meals at Aguila Centro Catolico.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Friedel of Aguila; son Mark Friedel of Portland, Ore.; daughter and son-in-law Kathy and Mark Hodges of Glendale; sister and brother-in-law Roseanne and Paul Duffey; brother and sister-in-law Charles and Kathy Friedel; and mother Marie Friedel of Fond du Lac; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rosary will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday, April 7 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Aguila.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 8 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Wickenburg. The Rev. Fred Le Claire and the Rev. John Vogt will officiate.
At Mr. Friedel’s request, there will be no flowers. Instead, a trust fund has been established for Our Lady of Guadalupe Youth Fund, c/o the Rev. John Vogt, St. Antony of Padua Catholic Church, 211 N. Tegner St/, Wickenburg, Ariz. 85390
Frey Funeral Home was in charge of all arrangement.
