The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ April 26, 2000, p. A12 James Sherman Maddox of Congress died April 22, 2000. He was 90. Mr. Maddox was born Feb. 16, 1910 in Rosedale, Ky. He moved to Wickenburg in 1972 after retiring as a machinist in Ohio. He enjoyed sports the majority of his life, both as a participant and a fan. Mr. Maddox was a Christian believer of the Baptist faith. He was dedicated to taking care of his family. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law Gerry and Bill Ballinger of Congress; Jeanette and Dave Carlson of Riverside, Calif.; Norma and Ron Robinson of Fairland, Calif.; grandchildren Dan, Timothy and Roger Dilg, Jennifer Robinson, and Bill Ballinger III; grandson and granddaughter-in-law Mike and Carol Robinson; granddaughter and grandson-in-law Mellissa and Rick Mullins; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Sallie; parents Matt and Larue Maddox; five brothers; one sister; and three half-brothers. Visitation will be conducted from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Thursday 9April 27) at the Wickenburg Funeral Home, 187 N. Adams. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a. m. Thursday 9April 27) at the funeral home, with graveside services to follow at the Wickenburg Municipal Cemetery. The Rev. Ron Robinson will officiate.
