Eduardo B. Valdez Jr., 66, of Tolleson died from surgical complications March 14, 2010, in Glendale.

Mr. Valdez was born Jan. 21, 1944, in Tolleson. He retired from the Tolleson Public Works Department. He was a pit crew member for Clark Racing team and was a volunteer firefighter.

He is survived by two sons, Carlos R. of Phoenix and Eduardo III; two sisters, Ramona and Litcha of Avondale; four brothers, Juan of Tolleson, Billy of Phoenix, Ernest of California and Lupito; and three grandchildren.

A Mass was celebrated March 22 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Tolleson.
