The Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, AZ June 14, 2000, p. A16 Catherine F. Das of Henderson, Nev. and formerly of Congress, died June 11 in Henderson. She was 85. Mrs. Das was born Aug. 10, 1914 in Minneapolis, Minn. She had lived in Arizona for 20 years before moving to Nevada. Survivors include her daughter, Tricia Das Hillman of Henderson; son Garrett Bruce Das of Amarillo, texas, seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Friday, June 16 at the Wickenburg Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 17 at the Wickenburg Funeral Home, with graveside services and interment to follow at the Wickenburg Municipal Cemetery. Pastor Ed. Born as a two and one-half pound preemie on Aug. 10, 1914 in Minneapolis, Minn., she has become the victor in death through her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She resided in Congress for 18-plus years, moved from Bethel, Minn. Married for 51 years to the love of her life, Garrett, who preceded her to heaven 15 years ago. Also, an infant daughter, Karen Mae. Her legacy continues in her son, Garrett Bruce Das from Amarillo, Texas and daughter Tricia Das Hillman of Henderson, Nev. Also seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Catherine’s love of travel took her on many excursions around the world with her cherished friends. She also enjoyed collecting dolls, frogs, quilting and cooking. She was a member of Yarnell Presbyterian Community Church, Congress Community Center and Congress Belles. She loved the Lord. He was the center of her life- a strong woman of faith. Memorials may be made to the Yarnell Presbyterian Building Fund or the Congress Volunteer Fire Department. The Wickenburg Funeral Home handled all arrangements.
