Lawrence "Larry" Leon Fouts, 64, of Flagstaff, died April 25, 2010. He was born April 11, 1946, in Richmond, Ind., to Wilbur Emerson and Mildred Hazel Fouts.
In 1958, his family moved to Phoenix where Mr. Fouts was raised. He moved to Flagstaff in 1978. He taught at Yavapai Community College in Tuba City before it was Coconino Community College. He worked as data processing director for Coconino County, then in 1981 went to work for WL Gore & Associates.
Mr. Fouts enjoyed riding motorcycles, going to the casino and his poker group. He was a baseball fan and loved to watch the Diamondbacks and his grandkids play ball. He also enjoyed watching NAU football. He played city league softball and loved oldies rock. He will be remembered for his legendary sense of humor and mathematical genius.
Mr. Fouts is survived by his wife of 44 years, Wilma Fouts; son Dan Fouts (Mindy) of Flagstaff; daughter Deana Arquello (Art) of Tempe; sister Marla LeDe (Ogden) of Wittman; father Wilbur Fouts of Phoenix; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother.
A service will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Norvel Owens Mortuary Chapel, 914 E. Route 66.
