Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, Arizona Tuesday, April 27, 2010 Isabel S. Alonzo, 91, of Flagstaff, died April 23, 2010, in Glendale, under the care of her children and Hospice of the Valley. She was born Nov. 17, 1918, in Flagstaff to Feliciano and Emilia Sandoval. Mrs. Alonzo touched the lives of many who knew her and will be greatly missed. She enjoyed reading, traveling, cooking and crocheting, and loved to listen to music, especially "big band" music from the 1940s. She was a loving and devoted mother who was always busy with every activity involving her children and their families. Mrs. Alonzo is survived by her children, Ed, Yolanda and Armando (Lorri) of Phoenix; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brother Tony Sandoval of Albuquerque, N.M.; and numerous other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benito. An evening vigil and holy rosary will be Friday at 7 p.m., with a funeral Mass on Saturday at 10 a.m., both at St. Pius X Center, 2257 E. Cedar Ave. Following services, she will be buried next to her husband at Calvary Cemetery. The family requests that memorial donations be made to Hospice of the Valley.
