TALAYUMPTEWA, Martine Howard Antonio

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 09/17/2004 Martine Howard Antonio Talayumptewa died Sept. 5, 2004 at his home in Alchesay Flats. He was born Nov. 21, 1944 in Whiteriver, as part of the Eagle and Bear Clans. Martine was traditional in both the Apache and Hopi cultures. He was also fluent in both languages and was very talented in doing beadwork. His last place of employment was at the Hon-Dah Casino, as a Gaming Inspector. Martine loved all his nephews, nieces and little animals. Martine is survived by his father, Martin Talayumptewa, Sr.; sisters E. Ann Talayumptewa, Wanda Talayumptewa, Wynette Dahkoshay-Pinal; brother Boyd Dahkoshay, Jr. and numerous relatives. He was pre-deceased by his mother Florence Harvey and brother Delano Dahkoshay. A wake and funeral services were held at his home in Alchesay Flats Sept. 8, 2004. Interment was at North Fork Cemetery. Silver Creek Chapel Mortuary of Whiteriver handled the arrangements.
