RANKIN, Nellie Rose

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona - 09/17/2004 Nellie Rose Rankin, 81, died Sept. 12, 2004 at her home in Show Low. She was born March 8, 1923 in Green City, Missouri. Nellie moved from Phoenix after the death of her soul mate, Lawrence "Lary" Rankin in 2001. Also preceding her in death was her daughter Dalara "Tudy" Nielson. She enjoyed her seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She retired as regional manager of a nationwide marketing firm. Her creativity and artistic work was inspirational to many. She is survived by her son Royce "Buz" Kelley (Deborah) of Show Low; daughter, Janice Lee Kelley of Bakersfield, California; son-in-law, Carl Nielson of Show Low. She will truly be missed here on earth but is with the Lord and her loved ones in Heaven. A viewing will be held Monday, Sept. 20 from 5-8 p.m. at Fletcher's Mortuary, 401 N. 4th Ave. in Show Low. Services will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 241 E. McNeil, Show Low at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21. Interment will be at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix Sept. 22 at 1 p.m. Fletcher's Mortuary handled arrangements.
